PERIOD POVERTY
Period poverty is the lack of access to menstrual products, hygiene facilities, and education due to financial hardship. It affects low-income women, students, and people experiencing homelessness, forcing many to choose between food and menstrual care. In the U.S., 1 in 4 menstruating individuals have faced this issue, often missing school, work, or daily activities. Despite being a basic need, menstrual products aren't covered by SNAP or Medicaid, making them harder to afford. This can lead to health risks from using improvised or overused supplies.
We are collecting supplies through 2026.
